Rose Cottage in the Lake District: Perfect for Couples and Small Families This is a lovely Lake District cottage, ideal for couples or small families. Rose Cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms (a double and a twin). Downstairs is an open plan kitchen and sitting room with coal fire. These two areas are separated by a spiral staircase leading to the bedrooms. Outside, the pretty garden provides space for relaxing and outdoor dining. Pets are welcome. Rose Cottage is a great starting point to explore the Lake District. Loweswater Lake lies three miles to the East and has wonderful woodland walks with a great pub at the end. Ennerdale Lake is four miles south and from here you can make your way up some of the Lake District’s loneliest mountains! Other outdoor activities nearby include pony trekking, mountain biking, rock climbing, canoeing and fishing. The charming town of Cockermouth is a ten minute drive away and has shops, cafes, restaurants and a small cinema.
